About Us
CFO-level judgement, available to businesses that do not need it full time.
Pepe Advisory provides financial leadership and strategic advice to growing businesses, investors, family enterprises and private clients. Our work begins where the accounts end: with what the numbers mean, and what should be done about them.
Leadership and expertise
The team.
Pepe Advisory brings together financial, investment, legal and sector expertise, and assembles the right combination of it for each engagement. Each person leads the work their expertise fits.
CPA Clyde Atsango Mutsotso
Financial leadership, corporate structuring and governance for growing businesses, family enterprises and private clients across Kenya and East Africa.
Clyde Mutsotso's work at Pepe Advisory is the financial agenda of a growing business: what the forecast says, whether the cash position supports the plan, which parts of the business actually earn their keep, and what a board needs in front of it before a decision is taken rather than after.
Most of his engagements are fractional CFO appointments. He takes responsibility for the reporting arriving early enough to act on, builds the forecast and the models the business decides from, and sits in the management and board meetings where those decisions are made. As a client's own finance capability grows, the role shifts from leading the function to overseeing it.
He also leads the firm's transaction and corporate finance work — valuations, due diligence, deal structuring and preparing a business to withstand examination — and its governance engagements, where the deliverable is a board pack, a delegation of authority and a risk framework that people follow. For family enterprises and private clients, the work is the consolidated financial view that no single adviser holds, and the governance around how a family decides.
He advises from the position of an owner as well as an adviser, having built and scaled businesses across professional services, financial services, gaming and fintech. His academic grounding in economics, finance, accounting and law lets him move between commercial strategy, financial structuring and regulatory exposure without handing the problem to someone else halfway through.
Beyond current practice he follows the direction of finance across Africa closely — private equity, digital assets, lending ecosystems and financial infrastructure — and works on how those markets reach the businesses and families the firm advises.
Background
Fractional CFO engagements
Takes the CFO role in fractional appointments — forecasting, management reporting, cash and working capital, and the financial agenda a board actually works to.
Transactions and capital preparation
Valuations, financial and commercial due diligence, deal structuring, and preparing a business to be examined by an acquirer, a lender or an investor.
Governance and board advisory
Board reporting, delegation of authority, internal controls and risk frameworks for businesses formalising how decisions get made.
Family enterprise and private clients
Consolidated reporting, holding structures and succession coordination for families whose wealth sits across several businesses and advisers.
Professional qualification
Certified Public Accountant, with an MBA in Finance from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Laws from Africa Nazarene University.
Owner as well as adviser
Has built and scaled businesses across professional services, financial services, gaming and fintech, and advises having made the decisions he is asked about.
A separate practice
Also Managing Partner of Clyde and Associates LLP, a separate audit and tax firm. The two firms are kept distinct; where a client uses both, the engagements are separate and the independence requirements applying to assurance work are observed.
Parfait Mutimura
Financier and financial services entrepreneur working across venture capital, private markets and alternative investments, between New York and Nairobi.
Parfait Mutimura is a financier and financial services entrepreneur specialising in venture capital, private equity, private placements, global macro strategies and alternative investments. His career spans investment banking, hedge fund management, wealth management and private capital markets, with a focus on capital formation and capital allocation across global and emerging markets.
He is the founder of Rama Sycamore, a New York-based investment and financial services firm focused on venture capital, private markets, capital allocation and alternative investments. The firm helps entrepreneurs, companies and investors access strategic capital, evaluate opportunities, structure transactions and allocate capital effectively across global and emerging markets.
He divides his time between New York and Nairobi, which is the perspective he brings to Pepe Advisory's work: how a business, a family enterprise or an investment proposition reads to capital that has a choice of markets, and what has to be true before it is taken seriously by that capital.
Outside his professional work he is the author of two books — Sheer Will, a memoir, and Money Conditioning, on financial literacy — and he plays tennis and reads philosophy.

Sirungai Allan Kakai
Legal and policy specialist in digital assets, working with regulators, exchanges, stablecoin issuers and decentralised protocols across Kenya, Africa and offshore jurisdictions.
Allan Kakai works on the part of digital-asset advisory that most businesses and families discover late: what the law actually requires, what a regulator will ask, and how an asset or a structure has to be arranged before either question can be answered comfortably.
His policy work has been on the framework itself rather than at its edges. He led the parliamentary interventions behind the repeal of Kenya's Digital Asset Tax in 2025, has steered engagement on the VASP Bill and successive Finance Bills, and has taken the same work to regulators in Rwanda, Ghana and South Africa. As Founding Director of the Virtual Assets Chamber of Commerce he convenes the regulators, banks, payment providers and global digital-asset firms whose positions decide how the market is eventually governed.
Alongside that he does the structuring: DAO treasuries, real-world-asset and tokenised fund vehicles across Cayman, BVI and Delaware entities, and token offerings under Regulation D and Regulation S with the diligence and offering documents those require.
For Pepe Advisory's clients that means the governance, custody and reporting work on a digital-asset holding can be done against the regulatory position as it actually stands, rather than as it is assumed to stand. Legal services are provided by Allan in his own professional capacity and not by Pepe Advisory.
